Friends of Stewart Park and Triphammer Arts, Inc. warmly thanks everyone who supported and attended WaterMusic & Dancing on the Trail this past Sunday! It was a lovely evening with great weather (thankfully, we were able to postpone the event from stormy Saturday). Special thanks to Community Arts Partnership, all the fine musicians (Djug Django, Fly by Night, Nikolai Ruskin, Steven Stull, the Triphammer Arts Dancers, WaterGrass, Six Mile Craic and Sow’s Ear), and our photographers Edna Brown and Frank Muller. Thanks also to Paddle-N-More and Finger Lakes Boating Center for helping folks get out on the water, and to Boatyard Grill for graciously allowing us to take over Lookout Point.

Join Us in Trimming the Lake Edge in Stewart Park

This Thursday, 8/17, from 12 - 1:30pm

Our invasive lake edge friend, False Indigo Bush (Amorpha Fruticosa), is doing its best to obscure the view of beautiful Cayuga Lake for visitors to Stewart Park. With just a few summer weekends left and a big celebration of Racker’s 75th anniversary being held in the park this Saturday afternoon, we thought we should take a whack at this aggressive southern native that can be weedy and invasive in the northeast.

FSP has hand hedge trimmers and loppers available or bring your own favorite tools. We will be meeting on the west side of the Wharton Studio Building outside of the DPW garage door. An hour of your time between 12 and 1:30pm would be most appreciated.

Join Wharton Studio Museum, our partner in park revitalization, this Saturday, August 19 for Silent Movie Under the Stars!*

This year WSM is thrilled to be featuring Beverly of Graustark (1926) starring Marion Davies, one of the great comedic actresses of the silent era.

This popular event -- it's lucky year 13! -- takes place this Saturday at Taughannock Falls State Park at sundown. With live original music composed and performed by Cloud Chamber Orchestra, featuring Chris White and Peter Dodge. FREE and open to the public! There's a $5. per vehicle parking fee in the park. Bring a blanket, chair, picnic and sweater and settle in for a cinematic night under a starry sky at Taughannock.

Produced in collaboration with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. For more details, visit whartonstudiomuseum.org

Thanks to Presenting Sponsor M&T Bank and to Community Arts Partnership’s “Grants for Arts Program,” with funds from Tompkins County for their support.
