August 19 , 2022 The college students may be back, but summer's not over! There's more fun in store in the next few weeks. Hope to see you in the park and out and about!  Friends of Stewart Park MOVIES IN THE PARK STARTS THIS FRIDAY Movies in the Park this Friday features Lin-Manuel Miranda's In The Heights!  Brought to you by the Tompkins Chamber and Serendipity Catering, this year's Movies in the Park features five FREE movies on Friday nights in Stewart Park from the last Friday night in July through August.  Families and kids of all ages are welcome, so grab your blankets and chairs, and join in the fun! Visit the Friends of Stewart Park table this Friday while you're there. Event sponsors include: Presenting Sponsor- Guthrie Ithaca; Gold Sponsors- Chemung Canal Trust Company and Maguire Automotive; Silver Sponsors- Yelverton Insurance, Cinemapolis, Hotel Ithaca, and CSP Management. In the event of inclement weather, Movies in the Park will take place at Cinemapolis that same evening with the movie starting promptly at 7:30 pm. A rain call will be made by 12 pm the day of. MORE INFO FREE CAROUSEL DAYS The Stewart Park Carousel will be free the last two weekends of August, courtesy of Visions Federal Credit Union! Thanks to Visions for helping make summers in Ithaca even more special! Visions is sponsoring the carousel August 20, 21, 27, & 28, ensuring free rides of all!!  Additionally, Cornell Concert Series sponsors the carousel Labor Day Weekend! Thank you to all this year's carousel sponsors! SILENT MOVIE UNDER THE STARS THIS SATURDAY AUGUST 20 12th Annual Silent Movie Under the Stars at Taughannock Falls State Park this weekend! Wharton Studio Museum invites you to Silent Movie Under the Stars at Taughannock State Park!  This Saturday, August 20, 8:00 p.m.  Enjoy Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928) starring the incomparable Buster Keaton at this popular outdoor end-of-summer screening, in partnership with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.
