We're Making a Splash in Stewart Park!
Friends of Stewart Park is revitalizing Stewart Park by restoring its historic past, creating a safe and accessible park for the present, and re-envisioning for an incredible future. Our beloved public lakeside park celebrates its centennial in 2021 and FSP is striving to have all its major revitalization projects underway in time for the celebration!
Our biggest revitalization project to date is the INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND! This multiphase project includes expansive accessible and interactive pre-school and school age play structures, a sand play area, new swings and climbing elements, a paved berm path leading toward a Cayuga Lake overlook and a new cover for the 1950's carousel. We're fundraising now for Phase III of the project which includes A BIGGER, BETTER, INTERACTIVE AND ACCESSIBLE SPLASH PAD!
The current Stewart Park Splash Pad is nearly 70 years old. It's small, unengaging and inaccessible. The new significantly larger Splash Pad will feature a flush accessible surface, timed water shut off, push button start, dynamic interactive fountains and overhead sprinklers, and an embedded mural of the Finger Lakes.
We are all looking forward to when we can safely play together again. With your help, we are making Stewart Park an even more special place--- for kids of all abilities.
