Friends of Stewart Park is pleased to present the first event in our Centennial series, Birds of Stewart Park with Dr. Stephen Kress. Acclaimed author and ornithologist Kress will introduce some of the more than 100 bird species that frequent Stewart Park in a lively presentation with stunning images and audio recordings. This free online program, for any and all bird enthusiasts, explains why Stewart Park is such a popular destination for both birds and birders.
Guest Dr. Stephen Kress has taught a popular Spring Field Ornithology course at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology for more than 40 years. He is the founder of Audubon’s Project Puffin and served for many years as director of the Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine. Dr. Kress has written many books, articles, and online courses about birds and wildlife conservation. He is renowned for his entertaining and engaging teaching style and loves sharing his extensive knowledge about bird life.
